How to Calm Anxiety Through Yoga Therapy

Over these last 18 months, the stresses of a global pandemic has taken its toll on all of us. Many people are experiencing anxiety for the first time or at a greater level than they have in the past. It may be difficult to know how to work through new anxiety. Yoga Therapy equips people with practices and tools to help.

Breathing is one of the most beneficial techniques to help calm the fight or flight feeling of anxiety. In a yoga therapy session, breath work, meditation and yoga poses will be introduced to bring your brain from the sympathetic nervous system (fight/flight) into the parasympathetic nervous system (relax). With the practice and guidance during a session, you can then bring those practices home.

In addition to breathing and meditation, other modalities are utilized, such as essential oils, tapping, mantras, mudras, reiki, and coaching techniques. With Yoga Therapy, you are not alone as you learn how to train your body to be in a state of calm again– allowing for more restful sleep, improved focus, decreasing cortisol, and more.

Yoga Therapy doesn't end at the session. You will discover multiple resources that you can apply at home, work, or wherever stress and anxiety appears in your life.
